    Does gestational diabetes disappear after childbirth

    In most cases, gestational diabetes disappears after childbirth. After the baby is born and the placenta is delivered, the hormonal changes that contributed to gestational diabetes usually reverse. As a result, the insulin resistance decreases, and blood sugar levels typically return to normal within a few days to weeks after childbirth.
