It took me a minute to figure out how to draw up the blood correctly and once I did it’s been easy. However, I keep getting very different readings each time I test ( always in the mornings fasted) so I can’t say this machine is accurate at all and I am disappointed with my purchase. I have reached out to see about a replacement or upgrade and I am waiting to hear back.

Cholesterol meter.

I like that the meter checks for different values of the lipid profile. I'm not crazy about the lancets that were provided in the kit; I used one that works much better. My issue is getting the pipettes. (I finally found some) I wished the meter required only one or two drops of blood, like the glucose meters. If I want to check my cholesterol every day my fingers would turn blue.

Since our device provides a 3-in-1 lipid panel test, it does require a larger blood sample to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Then, we fully understand your concern about frequent testing and finger discomfort. Cholesterol levels are relatively stable and generally do not change significantly in a short period of time, so daily testing is not necessary.

"Optional items" like a car without wheels

Last time i bought a cholesterol meter, it only gave total cholesterol. After some arguing with vendor, I got my money back. This one, by Medasia, gives a complete picture, so I'm pleased wtih that. However, I had to order 25 more tast strips because the 5 that comes with the meter just is insufficient. Further, I had to look around the internet to find micro pipettes suitable for blood transfer. Shame on Medasia for just making a "partial" kit. Oh, and the company brags about a "special sale." Uhhh, nope. The special is the same price I paid, which was prior to the special being announced. All in all, the product really is the "only game in town," but the effort of trying to get the whole thing together makes me conclude that I was being cheated.

Seems To Work Well

I don't go to doctors so I don't have results for comparison, but it seems to work as advertised. Gave me peace of mind on my cholesterol health. It was somewhat difficult to get enough of a sample so be sure to squeeze more blood out of your finger than you might think you need and keep the pipette tip in the blood and wait and wait for it to slowly fill to the line marking the amount of sample needed. I wasted my first strip because I didn't get it quite full enough for the numbers to show and had to hurt another finger and use another strip. But it works as described if you follow the instructions exactly and really make sure to squeeze out a full fingertip of blood, not just a little drop.

The cholesterol tester is high quality. It came well packaged and was delivered quickly. I used a couple of tests as I did had a few problems getting enough blood out of my finger. As for accuracy I’m not sure as I would have to compare immediately with a lab test but I believe it was in range. I’ve had two doctor administered test that were higher but I have made some changes that I believe should have lower my cholesterol reflecting the readings I received on the meter. I will at least be able to monitor my readings before heading to the doctor administered test to see if I’m on the right track. I’m very happy with the meter and purchase.

When I had an issue with the optical strip test for my newly purchased at Home cholesterol meter LPM-102 I contacted customer support service via email. Within an hour I received an email with instructions/video on how to troubleshoot. When the issue persisted they immediately recognized that the issue was due to the control strips and not a faulty meter. Within few days I received new control strips with a beautiful gift all free of charges. The new control strips confirmed that the meter is in good working condition.

Hello Terry. Just a quick note: the LDL cholesterol level is calculated rather than measured directly.
The formula we use is: LDL = TC - HDL - (Triglycerides ÷ 5)

Our meter provides direct measurements for TC, HDL, and TG, so you can easily determine the LDL value using the calculation above.

Small differences can occur because of sample collection, sample volume, timing, and normal variation between testing methods. Why is my reading coming out lower?

If your reading seems lower than expected, the most common reason is that the blood sample was too small. Please fill the Capillary Transfer Tube until the blood reaches the black line at the top.
